Busy Days

I just wanted to sit down and apologize for the lack of posts lately. I have been running around like a chicken without a head, between school and work I haven't been able to really sit down and focus on my blog.

Even though I know I get barely any views at my blog, because its new and I haven't really created a fan base. I just wanted to apologize to anyone who may come across my page.

I promise promise promise there are blogs in the work. Hope you all understand.

Manicure Monday: Nautical Nails

Since  Halloween is this week I decided to paint my nails to match my costume :)

I decided to wear my Sailor Costume again this year and painted my nails and toenails Nautical themed

For my base color I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Cobalt Blue.
I've raved about this polish before and it is still a definite favorite.

The color is a beautiful Blue with a shimmery undertone and really does dry instantly. The color is so rich that you really only need one coat :)

Once the Cobalt Blue dried (which didn't take long) I used a white nail art pen to draw the stripes. I did this on my ring finer nails and all my toenails!

To finish it off I used a very thin paint brush and a Revlon polish in Golden Charm to paint a little heart on my ring finger nails <3

And for my toes... I painted on an anchor :)

So cute and appropriate

I finished everything off with my favorite No Chip Revlon Top Coat

Can't wait for Wednesday to truly show off my nautical nails

Manicure Monday: Halloween French Manicure

Hey There Beauty Lovers!!!

I'm so excited to post my first Halloween Manicure :)

Keep reading to find out how I got this Halloween French Manicure

The classic Halloween colors are of course Orange and Black, So I thought why not use these classic colors in a classic manicure to make a Halloween French Manicure :)

I started out with the base color Courtney Orange #30 by Sinful Colors. This color went on very smoothly and required 3 coats to get a nice opaque color because the color is slightly translucent to begin with. This color has a very nice shimmer to it and is not too over powering.

For the tips I chose a glossy black. Black on Black #103 by Sinful Colors.

These colors look absolutely stunning together and I love the way this manicure turned out :). I used a thin brush to paint the tips on. I didn't use tape or any guides or anything I just did it by eye. To finish off I put 2 coats of Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat for an extra glossy finish.

*Quick Tip*: Put a fresh top coat on every 2-3 days to make your manicure last longer ;)

I hope you guys enjoy these festive pictures... I know I'm enjoying my festive potpourri <3

Manicure Mondays!! Half-Moon Fall Manicure :)

So I know this is going up just past midnight so technically it is Manicure Tuesday.... but I did actually start this on Manicure Monday. I am trying my best to keep updated with everything but I am a full time college student and I had tons of homework and exams lately....

Sincere apologies, so without further ado.... Manicure Time <3

The half-moon manicure is a huge trend now and I've been dying to try it out ever since Blair Fowler posted about it on her blog. I really wanted to try a really cool fall color combination to the two colors that I chose were both by Sinful Colors and they are, Zincing of You  and Moss Have

Both of these colors are absolutely stunning. Zincing of You  is a gorgeous metallic bronze/brown/gold color and Moss Have is a gorgeous moss green color that is perfect for the fall. Both colors went on very smooth and I only needed two coats of Zincing of You  and one coat of Moss Have.

So I started out by painting all my nails with the color Moss Have except for my ring finger, which I painted with Zincing of You.

I let this coat dry for a good amount of time. You want to make sure that they are completely dry before the next step

When your first coat is completely dry you can take a circular sticker (a lot of people use page protectors) to create the half-moon shape. I started this on my ring finger. After the sticker was on I painted over the bronze color with the green and removed the sticker while it was still wet.

I then proceeded to do this with all my other nails making sure to paint them with  the bronze over the green.

I put a coat of Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat and was done

Here is the final look :)

Hope you guys enjoyed this :)

Manicure Monday!!

Hey There Beauty Lovers,

Welcome back to Manicure Mondays. This week is a very simple manicure. I was on the look out for the perfect red to rock this fall and I came across this Sinful Colors: Hot Hot Heat in my local drugstore. Let me tell you... I am OBSESSED!!

The color is absolutely perfect. It's not to bright and flashy but rather a nice deep red with a great shine :) It went on smooth and opaque. I used two coats but you could definitely get away with one.

The best part.... It was only $1.99 :)

To finish I added a Revlon: No Chip Top Coat to keep that beautiful shine.

All Done :)

Told you it was a simple manicure, but it looks amazing

Check back next week for another Manicure Monday

OOTD: Country Fair/Concert!!

Hey There Beauty Lovers,

A little something that you might not know about me is that I am a huge Country Music fan and one of my favorite bands is Love and Theft. I have loved them since they were a trio and I still love them now that they are a duo.

Last night I got to go to a small concert at a local fair and I thought I would share with you guys what I wore when I met Stephen Barker Liles :) Now I met them a few years ago when they were a trio and I was even more excited to get the chance to meet them again last night... But the security guy wouldn't let me be the last person to get to take pictures with them at the meet and greet. I was really disappointed but decided to go snap some picture of my outfits for you guys.

While I was taking these pictures I realized that I was right behind where they were having the meet and greet. I mentioned to another girl, who was told she couldn't join the line, that they were right there and she decided to yell out "Hey Stephen" :) To my astonishment, he came running over and was talking to us. I didn't get the chance to take a picture with him but talking to him was awesome.

I was touching the stage at the concert and when he saw us again he was singing to us directly and making faces and being awesome. It was really an amazing experience.

Well... anyway. On to the outfit I wore :)

I paired my dark wash American Eagle Jeggings with a flowy tan hammy-down top. I put a simple off-white cardigan from the gap over it and wore my hair straight.

Now of course for a country concert I couldn't possibly leave the house without my boots so I paired the whole look with a pair of tan suede boots from Wet Seal :)

Here's a closer look

For makeup I wore a brown smokey eye with a dramatic winged eyeliner :)

Here's an idea of how close to the stage we were :) This picture is not zoomed in at all!!

And last but not least my boyfriend was jealous that I wasn't putting up an pictures of him. So... meet Eric :) This is us waiting for the concert to start. Isn't he cute?

Check back tomorrow for Manicure Mondays :)

Hope you all had a good weekend too!!

OOTD :)

Hey There Beauty Lovers,

So I bought these amazing lace up boots at Forever 21 and I've been dying to wear them to school and I thought why not do my first outfit of the day wearing them.

So here it is! Enjoy!!

I'm wearing a sheer flowy black button up that I got from Joyce Leslie. I paired this with a pair of pale green skinny jeans that I got from Rue 21 on sale!!

For accessories I wore faux pearl earrings from K-Mart and an anchor necklace I got from a little boutique in Perkins Cove Maine.

But my favorite accessory of all was... MY SHOES!! So gorgeous and only $35 from Forever 21

To finish the look off I wore a gold and brown makeup look that is my go-to look for wanting to look a little more glamorous but still day time appropriate.

And that's pretty much it :) Hope you guys enjoyed this let me know what you want to see next.

Welcome to Manicure Mondays!!!

OMBRE NAILS

Hey everyone and welcome to Manicure Mondays :)!!! I thought I would start off this series with a fun nail art. I decided to do Blue Ombre nails. Hope you enjoy!!

The three nail polishes that I used for this look were; Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Cobalt Blue, Sinful Colors in Savage, and L.A. Colors in #572. The Cobalt Blue is gorgeous. It's such a nice deep blue color with a shimmery finish, but not glittery like some nail polishes. I only needed one coat of this for my base. The polish goes on super smooth and truly does dry instantly. i would definitely recommend this nail polish.

After the base was dry, which only took about a minute, I used the Sinful Colors in Savage to start my ombre design. To get this look I put a few drops of the polish on a paper plate and used a sponge to lightly dab the color on the tips of my nails. This polish took a few dabs to show up on top of the Cobalt blue. Savage is a light flat teal color.

Because Savage is a flat teal color, I did not like the way it looked against the shimmery Cobalt Blue. I decided to take L.A. Colors #572 and place it on top of the Savage color to create more of a shimmer. I used the same sponge method as I did before. #572 is a light shimmery teal color and looks absolutely amazing against the Cobalt Blue.

I finished off with a Revlon No Chip Top Coat to keep the shine and called it a day :) Al of these colors can be purchased at a drugstore such as Walgreens or CVS. Comment below if you liked this post and tell me what you'd like to see next :)!!

First Blog!!!

Welcome Everyone!!

I am so excited that I finally made my own blog and that I am getting started with all this... social networking. I went from my simple life of Facebook, to a social network explosion practically over night.

I am extremely excited to introduce my blog: BeautyByDestini. Some of the things that I will be posting about on here include fashion, nails, makeup reviews, everyday life things, and other hobbies that I enjoy.

I am also trying to get my youtube channel up and running but I still need to figure out how I want to film and edit... so bear with me please :) I am hoping that this blog will be a little bit easier to keep up with because I wont have to actually sit down and film. I am a full time college student and I work part-time as well so I am extremely busy... but still hoping to squeeze in some time for youtube and blogging.

So excited to start meeting all of you :)
